About
I have been working as a freelance illustrator for over 12 years. I collaborate with researchers, creatives and community groups to co-create visual representations able to explain and expand their projects. Social and climate justice, as well as care and accessibility, are core values of my practice where I strive to amplify marginalised voices.
I create illustrations & comics for publications, books, zines, toolkits, exhibitions and campaigns. I interpret difficult concepts and ideas with efficient, thought-provoking visuals that support the ripple effect of a project beyond its publication date.
I live illustrate academic, cultural and community events. I record what is happening in real time during an event with live drawings and sketchnotes, offering a visual legacy to the participants. I actively listen to what is being said, shared and felt, especially by the quieter voices in the room.
Since December 2019, I have been a permanent resident of the Watershed’s Pervasive Media Studio in Bristol, where I experiment with creative technologies and cross-disciplinary collaborations in order to explore innovative ways to tell stories. From live drawn sets to immersive and intricate fine art pieces, I use illustration as a tool to enhance connection and audience immersion. My purpose as an illustrator is to demonstrate that illustration is a powerful and versatile discipline, an art form in its own right - and not just visual content.
I occasionally teach as an Associate Lecturer on the BA Illustration Course at the University of the West of England and comics workshop for the BA Medical Humanities at the University of Bristol.

About my Instagram profile: illustrators are often “expected” to use this platform and I have developed my portfolio there over the years. However, given Meta’s very shady AI policy, I do not publish my work there anymore. It’s been a difficult decision given the network and exposure opportunities but I do not want to give my work away for free to random robots with questionable political programming.
