Finding inclusive, sustainable and democratic models for work is one of the main challenges of the creative sector. Led by the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) and the University of Bristol and supported through the MyWorld project, the Fair Creative Economies (FaCE) research project is undergoing a 5 years’ exploration of the barriers facing creatives wishing to make changes to the way they work, think of solutions and raise the need for alternatives with policymakers, stakeholders and funders.
As a creative myself, I really enjoyed diving into the materials and findings of the research as I collaborated with the team on their two publications. I worked on a series of editorial and spot illustrations conveying the feel of a recipe book to propose an accessible documentation of the findings and workable toolkit in order to take these to the next step. I collaborated with the Bristol-based graphic design studio Green Hat who art directed the project. This is the second time working with them after our first collaboration on the All Our Footsteps publications.
